Fresh Organic Salad Mix Aeroponics 101

Fresh Organic and a cide free veggies. Aeroponically grown using experimental organic nutrient.

Before we start, let’s have a brief review about this subject.

What is aeroponics?

Aeroponics is the process of growing plants in an air or mist environment without the use of soil or an aggregate medium. It is sometimes considered a type of hydroponics. Because water is used in aeroponics to transmit nutrients.

What is aeroponic method?
An advanced form of hydroponics, aeroponics is the process of growing plants with only water and nutrients. This innovative method results in faster growth, healthier plants, and bigger yields — all while using fewer resources. … A 20-gallon reservoir holds a liquid nutrient solution made of water and earth minerals.
How do aeroponics work?
Using aeroponics, the roots hang through the net cup. Where they are misted with a mixture of water and nutrients. It works by compressing water, oxygen, and nutrients into a fine mist that is sprayed consistently onto the roots of the plant. This operates in a chamber-mister system.
What are the disadvantages of aeroponics?
List of the Disadvantages of Aeroponics
  • Aeroponics facilities require constant monitoring to be successful.
  • It is an expensive growing method to set up initially.
  • Aeroponics is highly susceptible to power outages.
  • You must have a certain level of technical knowledge.

Advantage of Aeroponics
However, the main advantage of aeroponics is that plants grow up to 3x more quickly. According to NASA, plants grow up to 3x faster in aeroponic growing systems compared to in soil. Plus, yields are more
consistent and, with grow lights, year-round growing is possible.
And there’s many more advantages in using this method especially when you’re considering your location, climate and space. Power outages might no longer  be an issue because of the fast advancement in solar power systems, also making it more affordable compared to a few years back. And also, the materials that are being used in this system(s) are no longer very expensive. Because of the growing demands and increasing numbers of manufacturers. You can also D.I.Y. it, like what I did.

And without further ado, let’s jump up to my story.

Experimental Organic Nutrient
The excessive use of synthetic nutrients or salt based npk’s are now causing tremendous environmental impact. And environmental conscious individuals grew worried. Hydroponic solutions needed a  consistent changed, from days to a weeks. Depends on the growing condition and temperature plays an important role. Because it can change the pH of the solution almost instantly resulting to a nutrient lockup(s) and if you imagine large scale operation, and the amount of waste nutrients that they discharged or dump in a weekly basis, will contribute or do more harm to the environment than the problem that it can solve.
So, if we can find ways to lessen this environmental impact, why not do it. This experiment was to showcase the possibilities of using organic nutrients, though it has disadvantages yet it could probably have more pros than cons. One of the many pros, is that when dump them, it is not hazardous to the environment.
How do I make organic nutrient? Well, in my case I used fish water, and dialed the pH to the specific range using FullOn, and somehow it did worked.

Fresh Organic

A touch of fresh organic tomatoes from the garden, and this experiment was already done, from April 2, 2017 – April 18, 2017, 16 days transformation.  And it’s a success to me. It’s really tasty!

Though it did got less light, but in just 16 days. Plus the possibility that organic nut will work (most especially in a controlled environment).

So why not going salt based (nut/npk) if organic is in fact possible in hydroponics(aeroponics), all we need is more R and D’s and we can grow Fresh Organic food in a more environmental friendly way .
